I Support The Special Olympics (stamp)

I used to support them until it became toxic. I don't bowl anymore because it was complete chaos to begin with. Not only that, but one of the other participants would constantly harass a friend of mine. To the point she asked not being on a team with him. Well they put her on the the team and when he stirred up trouble and she was just trying to mind her own business they would blame her. That same friend was in swimming too. Anther participant pulled off her swim top. Tried to anyways. She had a two piece like the other women had there. Anyways she when to the leaders they blamed her. She took it to the higher ups. Don't know what the higher ups said, but instead of banning him they banned her from the swim team. I kids you not. I took her to one of her events and she was just minding her own business. I saw him pull at her top while she was getting prepared to swim. I don't know how she enticed the man or whatever. She wasn't wearing anything different from the rest of the women there. They even tried banning her from bowling. So she eventually quite special Olympics altogether. I did as well after that. And while they have a lot more positive reviews on their Facebook. If you keep digging you'll find similar horrors. I don't know why this isn't being taken care of, but I am raising awareness about it because sexual harassment and victim blaming can't keep going on within special Olympics to our already vulnerable participants.
